While Comey Testimony Is Going On, Here's What Trump Will Be Doing...Live

Washington Post reporter Robert Costa said during an MSNBC interview on Tuesday that President Donald Trump could be live tweeting during former FBI Director James Comey's congressional testimony on Thursday.

Host Hallie Jackson said MSNBC reports confirmed that the White House war room operation, which was meant to push back against partisan attacks against Trump during Russia investigation, never took off.

"What is the plan now to try to counter some of this Comey-talk based on your information that you're hearing?" Jackson asked Costa.

Costa said that White House officials told him earlier on Tuesday morning that Trump wanted to be the messenger pushing back against Comey.

"The president is expected to be tweeting on Thursday in response to Comey," Costa concluded. "Not to stay quiet during the testimony because he himself wants to be the one driving the process."

Costa later tweeted that two White House sources told him that Trump does not plan to put his Twitter down on Thursday.

Comey will be testifying before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday at 10 AM. Trump is scheduled to give a speech to religious conservatives at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s "Road to Majority" conference at 12:30 PM, the Associated Press reports.
