While Rumors Swirl He'll Fire New Special Prosecutor, Trump Buries the Media with One Tweet

President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to go after the "fake news media" and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals for ruling against his administration's temporary travel ban.

Trump's first tweet was about the press, writing that the media "purposely" reports incorrect stories while using "phony sources." It is not clear if Trump was referring to a particular story or the press in general.

On Monday night, Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy said the president is considering firing special counsel Robert Mueller. CNN political analyst April Ryan said the possibility of Trump firing Mueller is causing "mass hysteria" in the White House.

"The Fake News Media has never been so wrong or so dirty. Purposely incorrect stories and phony sources to meet their agenda of hate. Sad!" Trump tweeted.

Shortly afterward, Trump tweeted again. His second tweet was about the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, which again ruled against his administration's temporary travel ban on six Muslim-majority countries on Monday. The ruling is expected to be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court.
