Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry zinged former president Jimmy Carter Thursday during his 2016 presidential campaign announcement in Addison, Tex, drawing laughter from his audience for saying that the country could survive anything if they made it through his administration.
"My friends, we are a resilient country," he said. "You think about who we are. We've been through a civil war. We've been through two world wars. We've been through a Great Depression. We even made it through Jimmy Carter! We will make it through the Obama years! We will do this!"
