Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (R.) has widened his lead over Democratic challenger Patrick Murphy to a six-point margin, according to the latest Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday.
In October, Rubio had only a two-point lead over Murphy, but in the poll released just before Election Day, the incumbent Republican had 50 percent support compared to 44 percent for Murphy, who currently serves in the House.
Early voting for Florida ends Sunday.
The Senate race in Florida has been receiving extra attention because the winner will help determine whether Republicans retain control of the chamber after Nov. 8.
