NBC's Kristen Welker described Hillary Clinton's campaign as being in "damage control" Thursday on The Today Show over her private email server being investigated by the FBI, reporting one aide said the Clinton team had "accepted the reality this email issue will be present throughout the campaign."
The Clinton team continues to insist the investigation into Clinton's private email stemming from her tenure as Secretary of State is not a criminal one, with communications director Jennifer Palmieri calling the entire story the "kind of nonsense" that comes with the territory of running for president.
Clinton has taken a hit to her honesty numbers in polls, and challenger Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.), who has no such problem, has begun to surge as a legitimate threat to her nomination bid.
