Google's Eric Schmidt, Who Worked With Clinton Campaign, Appears at Trump Tower

Eric Schmidt, the executive chairman of Alphabet, Google's parent company, was spotted at Trump Tower on Wednesday before a meeting between President-elect Donald Trump and a number of tech giants.

Schmidt worked directly with Hillary Clinton's campaign on its data effort, the Washington Free Beacon previously reported. Schmidt was also photographed wearing a "staff" badge at a Clinton event on election night.

Schmidt and Google executives also have a close relationship with President Obama's administration. Staffers from Google and its affiliates have visited the White House more than 420 times since Obama took office.

Last week, Schmidt helped a Democratic data firm founded by former Obama alumni raise $22 million.
