Former FBI Director James Comey denied Thursday that President Donald Trump or anyone in the administration asked him to stop the FBI's investigation in Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential election.

"Did the president at any time ask you to stop the FBI investigation into Russian involvement in the U.S. 2016 elections?" Sen. Richard Burr (R., N.C.) asked.

"Not to my understanding, no," Comey said.

"Did any individual working for this administration, including the Justice Department, ask you to stop the Russian investigation?" Burr asked.

"No," Comey said.
