Joe Williams: "I'm done"

Joe Williams, the reporter suspended by Politico for his offensive, borderline racist remarks about Mitt Romney, announced Friday he is leaving the news outlet for good.

"I’m done @ politico. Dtails to come," Williams wrote on Twitter.

Later in the afternoon, a follower of Williams’ private Twitter account retweeted a post from the reporter, saying "Tweeps: still in limbo @ Politico. Nothing decided yet. Will know more soon."

Williams was suspended late Thursday after he suggested that GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney is only comfortable around "white folks," and Breitbart.com unearthed a series of controversial remarks Williams made about Romney on Twitter, including one ill-advised "joke" about the former Massachusetts governor’s sexual organ.
