When a transgender, biological woman who identified as male killed three nine-year-olds and three adults at a Christian school in Nashville on Monday, most rational observers didn't look to transgender individuals as the true victims of the massacre, or to Republicans as the perpetrators.

But members of the mainstream media are not rational observers. This week, media pundits and their Democratic allies laid blame for the six deaths at the feet of Republicans and their "extremist right ideology," accusing them of "siding with the killers."

"These Republicans are the enemy," MSNBC host Joe Scarborough declared.
